Start with the patient journey
Map the journey from appointment request through registration, consultation, orders, billing, follow-up and patient communication. Note queues, repeated data entry, hand-offs and paper-based exceptions.
Choose connected workflows
Prioritise a connected foundation: appointment management, EMR, billing, clinical documentation, laboratory and pharmacy workflows where relevant. Define how each workflow shares data and who owns each decision.
Plan data migration carefully
Set retention rules, clean duplicate records, test sample migrations and reconcile totals before go-live. Migrate only information that is useful, lawful and understood by the receiving teams.
Build adoption into the plan
Use role-based training, quick-reference guides, super users and a go-live support rota. Measure workflow completion, appointment wait time, claim rework and user feedback after launch.
Design for regional requirements
Assess local authority, payer and interoperability requirements early. Integration scope and approvals should be verified for the individual facility rather than assumed from a software claim.
